LEGION OF MARY
The Legion of Mary is a Catholic association dedicated to serving the Church under the leadership of Mary Immaculate. Its mission is to engage in the spiritual warfare against the world’s evil powers through acts of service and devotion to Mary. The Legion is organized like a Roman army and is at the disposal of bishops and parish priests for various forms of Catholic action.
Activities include:
- Evangelization and home visits to the sick and needy.
- Catechism teaching and religious instruction.
- Supporting drug addicts, street children, hospital visits, and praying for the sick.
- Visiting inmates, cemeteries, and praying for souls in purgatory.
- Praying for priests and religious.
Membership is open to all Catholics who are committed to living their faith and fulfilling the duties of Legion membership. New members undergo a three-month probation period before being fully enrolled. The group meets on Saturdays after morning Mass to strengthen their devotion and commitment to the apostolate.
