The Catholic Women Association (CWA) is a lay Catholic women’s organization founded in 1980 during Pope John II’s visit to Kenya, under the guidance of Cardinal Maurice Otunga. Its main goal is to foster spiritual growth, encourage active participation in evangelization, and promote the socio-economic well-being of its members
Vision: To bear witness to Christ through the holistic development of families, as the first Christian church.

Membership: Open to baptized women aged 18 and above who have completed formation classes, taken vows, and embrace prayer, guided by three pillars: Catholic Faith, unity, and visionary leadership. Recruitment is done annually through parish announcements and verification from Small Christian Community (SCC) leaders.
Major Activities:
Promoting spiritual growth through prayer, retreats, seminars, and Bible sharing.
Supporting church development at various levels (SCC, parish, deanery, archdiocese).
Assisting the needy and the sick within the parish.
Collaborating with church leadership to fulfill the church’s 10-year strategic plan.
Organizing the Harvest Month in October to support the needy within the parish.
Visiting and praying with the sick and needy in the parish.
